What we collect and why
- Server and security logsWhen you open a page, our servers and Cloudflare, which delivers the site, process your IP address, the page requested, your browser and device type, the referring page and the time. We use this to deliver the site, find faults and block abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Steam inventory lookupsWhen you enter a Steam ID or profile link in the inventory tools, we send it to Steam to read the public inventory and price it. We keep one record per Steam ID: the ID, the public profile name and avatar, the total value, the item count and the time of the latest lookup. They drive the counters on the leaderboard page. A profile appears on the public leaderboard only if you tick the opt-in for it, and you can remove it again at any time. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running the tool (Art. 6(1)(f)), and your consent for the leaderboard listing (Art. 6(1)(a)).
- Saved on your deviceYour colour theme, recent searches, recently entered Steam IDs, the comparison basket and saved list views are stored in your browser (local storage). They never leave your device. Clear them in your browser settings.
- MessagesIf you email [email protected] we keep the message and our reply for as long as needed to answer you and to document corrections to the site.
- Analytics and marketingOnly with your consent, see below.
We do not run accounts, we do not ask for payment details and we do not sell personal data.
Partner link clicks
Links to marketplaces are partner links: Gamezod may earn a referral fee when you use them (partner disclosure). To count those clicks and to tell real visitors from bots, a link first opens a Gamezod address that forwards you to the marketplace and writes one line to a log file on our server (we call it the click log).
A line holds the time, the marketplace, the page the click came from, the destination host, whether the request looked like a person or a bot and why, whether it repeats an earlier click by the same visitor within 30 minutes, your country as reported by Cloudflare, your browser family and a salted hash of your IP address. The hash is a one-way fingerprint: we cannot turn it back into an IP address, and it is used only to spot repeat clicks and automated traffic. The log does not contain your name, email, full IP address or full browser string. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in accurate reporting to partners and in preventing click fraud (Art. 6(1)(f)). If you accept analytics or marketing cookies, the same click can also be sent to Google Analytics and Google Ads as an event with the marketplace name and the place of the link on the page.
Who receives data
- Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it from abuse.
- Our server hosting provider stores the logs and files described above.
- Google (Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, Google Ads), only for the categories you accept. Google may process data outside the EEA under the safeguards it publishes, such as standard contractual clauses.
- Steam receives the Steam ID you enter when we read the public inventory.
- Marketplaces receive you as a visitor when you follow a partner link. They have their own privacy policies; Gamezod does not pass them the contents of the click log.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Click log lines: 13 months, then they are deleted automatically.
- Analytics and marketing data at Google: for the period set in our Google accounts. Google's cookies live at most 13 months, see the cookie policy.
- Your cookie choice: 12 months, then we ask again.
- Steam lookup record: until you ask us to delete it or we remove it.
- Server logs at Cloudflare and our host: as long as their standard settings keep them, in any case for security purposes only.
- Emails: as long as needed to answer and document the correction.
Your rights
You may ask us for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction, a portable copy, and you may object to processing that rests on our legitimate interest. Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Email [email protected]; we answer within one month. To find a record by IP address we need the IP address, because the click log holds only a hash.
You may also complain to the supervisory authority: in Lithuania the State Data Protection Inspectorate (vdai.lrv.lt), or the authority in your own country.
Changes
We change this page when what we collect changes, and update the date at the top. Material changes to cookies show the banner again.
