Trade fairness questions
How do I check whether a CS2 trade is fair?
Price each item by what it sells for, not by its Steam Market price alone. Steam prices run above marketplace prices and ignore float, pattern and stickers. This checker prices both sides the same way, as instant cash bids, as the cheapest marketplace listings or as Steam listings, and shows who comes out ahead and by how many dollars.
What do You gain, You lose and Even mean?
The gap is measured against the smaller side. Within 5% either way the trade counts as Even. Beyond that, You gain means what you receive is worth more than what you give, and You lose means the opposite. The checker starts on instant cash when every item has a bid, and on the cheapest listing otherwise.
Does the price include float, patterns and stickers?
No. Prices cover the item and its wear only. Low floats, rare paint seeds, Doppler phases and valuable stickers can sell above the listing price, so price those with a float or sticker tool before agreeing.
What does the profile check tell me about the other trader?
It reads their account age, Steam level and bans from Steam. A clean profile is not a guarantee, because those signals cannot tell you whether the person will complete the trade as agreed. Confirm every item in the Steam trade window before you accept.
Which price basis should I use for a trade?
Instant cash shows what you would get if you sold now. Lowest ask shows what it costs to buy. Steam shows the Steam Market listing, paid in wallet funds. The checker starts on instant cash when every item has a bid, and on the cheapest listing otherwise, and you can switch between the three.
Why does the Steam row show a bigger gap?
Steam listings run above marketplace prices, and Steam pays in wallet funds that cannot be withdrawn as cash. That is why the Steam row usually shows a larger gap than the Instant cash or Lowest ask rows. For real-money value, read those two.
