Check a CS2 trader before you trade
Paste the Steam profile or trade link of the person you are about to trade with and see their bans, account age and other red flags before you accept.
Who are you trading with?
Any Steam profileWhere to find it
- Profile link: ask them for it, or open their profile in Steam or a browser and copy the address (Copy Page URL).
- Trade link: the link they sent you,
steamcommunity.com/tradeoffer/new/?partner=…&token=…. Paste it as it is. Only the partner number (their account) is read. The token is ignored, never sent and never stored.
Also accepted: a SteamID64, a custom profile name, Steam2 (STEAM_0:1:123) and Steam3 ([U:1:246]) IDs.
Free, no login. Read-only: nothing is changed on any account.
The verdict shows here
Bans, account age and other red flags from Steam and FACEIT. Nothing is changed on any account.
- No login
- Read-only
- Trade link token never used
Waiting for a Steam profile or trade link.
How the verdict is made
Three outcomes, set only by public facts from Steam and FACEIT. The check says what the facts are. It does not say what a person is.
- ✕High risk
Any one of: an active Steam trade ban; a VAC or game ban in the last 90 days; a Steam account younger than 30 days.
- !Be careful
Any one of: an older VAC or game ban; a FACEIT ban; a Steam Community ban or trade probation; a profile that is not public; a Steam account younger than 1 year; Steam level 0.
- ✓No red flags found
None of the above applies and the Steam ban record was read. If the ban record could not be read the result is “Bans not checked”, never a clean one.
Facts come from the Steam Web API and the FACEIT Data API, read through suspect.gg’s lookup service. Steam sends a day count of 0 when an account has no ban, so the day count only counts when a ban exists. A trade link is read for the account number only: the token in it is not used, sent or stored.
Questions before you trade
What does the trader check look at?
The account age, Steam level and profile visibility of the Steam account, its VAC bans, game bans, Steam Community ban and trade (economy) ban, how many days ago the latest ban was, and the FACEIT level and FACEIT bans of the same Steam ID. Every fact is public on Steam or FACEIT. Gamezod adds no reports, ratings or opinions of its own.
Does “No red flags found” mean the trade is safe?
No. Account age and bans cannot tell you whether a person will complete the trade as agreed. Read the exact items in the Steam trade confirmation (wear, StatTrak, Souvenir, stickers, item count), confirm only in the Steam mobile app, and never pay for skins outside Steam, because a reversal then leaves you with no item and no refund.
Where do I find someone’s Steam profile link or trade link?
Ask them for the profile link, or open their profile in Steam or a browser and copy the address. A trade link is the link they send you to start a trade offer: it contains their account number and a token. Paste either one. From a trade link only the account number is read; the token is ignored, never sent to Gamezod’s server and never stored.
Why are account age and level hidden?
Steam returns the creation date and level only for public profiles. For a private or friends-only profile both read “Hidden”, and the profile itself is marked Be careful. The ban record is still available, because Steam publishes bans for every account.
What does “Not checked” mean?
A source did not answer: Steam, FACEIT or the lookup service between them. A fact that was not checked is never counted as clean. If the Steam ban record is missing and nothing else is flagged, the result reads “Bans not checked” instead of a green verdict. Try again in a minute, or open the profile on Steam and look yourself.
How fresh are the results?
Steam and FACEIT answers are kept for up to 6 hours, so a ban given in the last few hours may not show yet. The time of the check is shown under the facts.
What should I do after the check?
Compare the offer with a price check on the same items, and remember that everything you receive in a Steam trade is trade protected for 7 days. The trade fairness checker prices both sides and lists the checks to make before you accept.
