Is Skinport legit?
Yes. Skinport is run by Skinport GmbH in Stuttgart, Germany, and has been trading since 2018. Its Trustpilot score is 4.8 from about 35,000 reviews.
The complaints you will find are about process. Reviewers mention ID checks and payout delays before a first cash-out, so plan for that if you are selling something valuable.
What Skinport is and who it suits
Skinport is a marketplace where users list skins and other users buy them. It covers CS2, Rust, Dota 2 and TF2, with more than one million items for sale.
It fits buyers who like to compare prices across a large catalogue, and sellers who are happy to be paid by bank transfer. It is a poor fit if you want PayPal or same-day cash. For other payout routes, see our guide to places to sell CS2 skins.
How to buy on Skinport
Buyers pay no fee and do not need to top up an account first. You can pay with Visa, Mastercard or Apple Pay.
Before you buy, you can inspect a CS2 skin on the site without launching the game, and check the item's price history to see whether a listing is fair. Search takes item and sticker keywords, which helps when you are after a particular sticker.
Skinport fees
Buying carries no fee. Sellers pay 8% on a standard sale. Items over 1,000 in your currency drop to 6%. Private sales cost 2%.
You may still see 12% mentioned in older guides. That was the standard seller fee before Skinport cut it.
The Steam Community Market adds a 15% fee on CS2 items. Steam funds also cannot be withdrawn as cash.
How to sell on Skinport
You list a skin at your own price and wait for a buyer. Before your first withdrawal, Skinport requires an identity check run by Adyen, using a government ID and a selfie.
How long do Skinport withdrawals take?
Payout is by bank transfer, and bank payouts are reported at 1 to 3 business days. The first withdrawal is the slow one because of the identity check, so allow extra time. PayPal is not listed as a payout route.
Checklist before you sell
- Expect an ID check before the first withdrawal.
- Have a bank account ready.
- Do not count on same-day money.
